Part of the Kothari Group, the Rs 620 cr Bharat Fritz Werner is hoping to close this fiscal with a turnover upwards of Rs 1,000 crore.

“We are planning to set up two more plants. One of the plants is planned for Tumkur in Karnataka where a machine tools park is coming up. We are also looking to set up a plant elsewhere,” Ravi Raghavan, MD said, noting that Rs 50 cr had gone into the Hosur unit..

He said within four years the firm’s production capacity will touch 10,000 machines per year from the current 3,500 machines per year.

All the sectors served by the company including the automobile, defence, dies and moulds, and general engineering are showing positive growth trends.

“Our order book position is about 2,800 machines worth about Rs 1,200 crore,” Raghavan added. On setting up a plant in north, he said about 30 per cent of the company’s sales come from that region but no final decision had been taken on locating a new plant there.
