Aswathaman was born as a son to Drona and Kirubi. He was naturally born with Lord's blessings. During his birth, he sounded like Uchai Siravas horse in heaven, and therefore was named as 'Aswathaman'.

Aswathaman was one among those who died in Kurukshethra war. As per puranas Aswathaman is one among seven siranjeevis in world.
