However, it is not just that but also what happened at the event that got the Twitterati talking. The Emmy announcer called Priyanka Chopra and Anthony Anderson to present the Award for Outstanding Variety Talk Series to John Oliver, but pronounced Chopra as Chopa, missing out the ‘R’ from Priyanka’s surname.

Twitter was mightily outraged on behalf of the actress and schooled the Emmys online. “Hey #Emmys is @priyankachopra’s name REALLY that hard to pronounce? CHO-PRA!! Not “Choppa” My Nana would be so pissed right now,” wrote one user, while another said, “Why can’t you see the R in her name? It takes like less than a second.”
