“I didn’t want to rush after the success of Oru Kuppai Kadhai. I wasn’t under any sort of pressure to sign films because that film had set a benchmark in my career,” the actress told DTNext. Manisha also clarified that she would still sign a manistream film. “The story matters and my role has to be substantial enough to take it forward. These are things I look for before signing a film. There are a few interesting projects in my lineup in Tamil and Malayalam I have signed up for during the lockdown,” she added.

She feels that OTT platforms have opened up several aveneues for actors and filmmakers. “More stories can be told within specific budgets and there will be wide opportunities for actors and filmmakers. However, theatrical experience is the ultimate dream for an actor and even for an audience to immerse themselves whollistically into a film,” told Manisha. Talking about her Deepavali plans, she said, “It is that time of the year when I turn a sweet tooth. Most of us diet the entire year to go all out on Deepavali sweets or the other way round.”
