The film will clash against Sivakarthikeyan’s action thriller Hero and Suriya ’s Soorarai Pottru on December 20 for Christmas weekend. Directed by Durai Senthil Kumar, Dhanush plays a dual role in Pattas which also has Mehreen Pirzada the female lead. Sivakarthiketyan’s Hero is directed by Mithran, Kalyani Priyadarshan plays the female lead in the film. The film also has Abhay Deol and Arjun in key characters. Meanwhile, Soorarai Pottru is being directed by Sudha Kongara and the story is based on Air Deccan Founder GR Gopinath. Even last year, the Christmas weekend saw heavyweights like Dhanush’s Maari 2, Sivakarthikeyan’s Kanaa, Jayam Ravi’s Adanga Maru and Vijay Sethupathi’s Seethakathi clash at the box office.
