CHENNAI: As the Pongal window was open for films to release due to the delay of Jana Nayagan's release, a couple of films are gearing up to hit the screens on the day. Jiiva-starrer Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil was initially announced to release on January 30. However, the makers revealed that the film will now hit the screens on January 15

Written and directed by Nithish Sahadev, the film is billed to be a fun-packed political entertainer. The star cast includes Thambi Ramaiya, Ilavarasu, Prathana Nathan, Jensen Dhivakar, Jaiwanth, Sarjin Kumar, Rajesh Pandian, Subash Kannan, Amith Mohan, Anuraj OB, Sharath and Savithri.

Vishnu Vijay composes the music, while KR Group is bankrolling the project. Bablu Aju is handling the camera, while Arjune Babu takes care of the cuts.

Meanwhile, Jiiva, who was last seen in Aghathiyaa, has Jolliya Iruntha Oruthan in the pipeline. This film marks the reunion of the iconic trio, Jiiva, director M Rajesh and music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja, after Siva Manasula Sakthi.
