The Madras High Court on Monday passed an interim order that the Nadigar Sangam can work on fresh polls, without announcing the dates. Last week, actor-producer Vishal Krishna had filed a plea after the high Court declared the elections as ‘null and void’. The appeal long with other pending appeals pertaining to Nadigar Sangam will come up for hearing before February 27. The court had also appointed Justice B Gokul Dass, a retired High Court Judge, to conduct re-election within three months. In the meantime, PV Geetha, the special officer appointed by the Tamil Nadu government, is overseeing the activities of Nadigar Sangam. The incumbent members, including Nasser and Vishal, from Pandavar Ani battled it out against the Swami Sankaradas Ani led by Ishari K Ganesh and Bhagyaraj in the June elections last year. Poochi Murugan, the EC Member of Vishal’s Pandavar Ani, told DT Next, “The law states that we can appeal against the verdict and we would even take this case to the Supreme Court. We are working towards the completion of the Nadigar Sangam building and will continue to fight.”
