Manoj refutes rumours about Sigappu Rojakkal sequel

There have been several rumours doing the rounds on social media about the sequel to Sigappu Rojakal. A few media houses reported that ace director Bharathirajaa, who helmed the original in 1978 with Kamal Haasan and Sridevi in lead roles, will be helming the sequel too.

However, some said that it will be his son Manoj who will direct the sequel with Keerthy Suresh reprising Sri Devi’s role. When contacted, Manoj told DT Next, “The sequel to Sigappu Rojakkal will happen when the time is right and when things fall in place.” Prod him about Keerthy Suresh’s participation in the project, and he says, “We haven’t approached any artiste as of now for the project. Any official announcement will be made only by me and my father .”

The actor also took to Twitter on Wednesday to clarify about talks revolving around the sequel.
