CHENNAI: The teaser of Ravi Mohan’s Karathey Babu was unveiled on Saturday.
The story revolves around by election in RK Nagar constituency in which Karathey Babu (Ravi Mohan) contests. The nearly 2-minute teaser gives out that the movie could be a proper political drama, and depicts the rise of Karathey Babu as a politician.
Sam CS, whose music in the title promo was lauded, has yet again done a neat job in the teaser. Karathey Babu is now one of the most-anticipated films of 2026.
The film has Ravi Mohan playing the titular role and a politician for the first time in his film career.
The film speaks about the emotional side of the politicians, and it is not a usual political satire film as it depicts the raw and human side of the politicians.
Karathey Babu is produced by Screen Scene's Sundar Arumugam. The movie is directed by Dada fame Ganesh K Babu.
Coming from a political background, Ganesh K Babu gives us insights into the unseen side of politicians, which adds a different layer to this film.
Director KS Ravi Kumar, Nasser, Subramaniam Siva, Kaali Venkat, Shakthi Vasu, and Kavithalaya Krishnanare are playing pivotal roles in this film.
Actress Daudee Jiwal is making her movie debut in it.
The team is planning to release Karathey Babu in the summer, with the date yet to be announced.
