CHENNAI: The makers of Thalapathy 69 have been announcing the cast of the film since October 1. On Thursday, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani, Narain and Prakash Raj joined the cast, along with Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde and Mamitha Baiju.

Helmed by H Vinoth, Thalapathy 69 is said to be the last film of actor Vijay, before entering politics. Produced by KVN Productions and The Route, the film will have Anirudh Ravichander composing the music. This will be his fifth collaboration with Vijay after Kaththi, Master, Beast and Leo.

The first look of Thalapathy 69 indicated that the story might be related to politics. It also had the tagline, ‘Torch bearer of democracy’. The pooja ceremony of the film will take place in Chennai on October 4, following which it will go on floors on October 5. The film is slated to hit the screens in October 2025.
