Now, rumours have been circulating among fans on social media that the makers have decided to shoot the rest of the film here in Chennai.

However, director Ajay Gnanamuthu denied it quickly. When a Twitter user asked, “Heard rumour that remaining Russia portion will be shooting in Chennai using green mat. Is it true?” (sic), Ajay answered with, “No! Not possible”. The exchange occurred when the director, with a smiling emoji, had shared AR Rahman’s tweet on the list of post-production activities to be held in K’Town.

Produced by 7 Screen Studio and Viacom 18 Studios, Cobra stars Srinidhi Shetty as the female lead. It also marks the acting debut of cricketer Irfan Pathan as the movie’s antagonist and has its music composed by AR Rahman. Fans will get to watch Vikram in seven different looks.
