Actor Ramarajan admitted to hospital, COVID results awaited

Veteran actor Ramarajan was admitted in Adyar King's Institute after he complained of breathlessness.

Actor turned politician Ramarajan was admitted to Adyar King's institute in Chennai after he complained of breathlessness. Initial reports said that he was been tested for COVID-19 and the results are awaited.

According to reports, Ramarajan had breathing issues after coming in contact with someone who had visited his house to fix an AC.

'Makkal Nayagan' Ramarajan who is known for his village-based subjects, proved his mettle as actor, writer and producer too. Most of his movies were box office hits, especially Enga Ooru Paatukukaran, Karagattakaran and Enga Ooru Kavalkaran.

Later Ramarajan took a plunge in politics and he was elected to the Lok Sabha from the Tiruchendur constituency, in 1998, representing AIADMK. He was made as a star speaker while late CM Jayalalitha was in the regime.

Ramarajan was married to actress Nalini in 1987 but eventually, the couple got divorced in 2000, citing marital differences. They have twin children, daughter Aruna, and son Arun born in 1988.
