Class 12 boy kills self after father chides him for playing games

On Tuesday morning, Vignesh was playing a game without getting ready for school and soon Senthil Kumar scolded and asked him to go to school.

CHENNAI: A Class 12 boy killed himself after his father scolded him for being addicted to mobile games in Pallavaram on Tuesday.

The deceased was Vignesh Kumar (16) of Pallavaram, who was studying in a private school in East Tambaram. Police said Vignesh was addicted to mobile games and he used to play games continuously till late at night. Vignesh's father Senthil Kumar (47), a tailor used to warn Vignesh regularly to stop playing games and concentrate on his studies.

On Tuesday morning, Vignesh was playing a game without getting ready for school and soon Senthil Kumar scolded and asked him to go to school.

Later, Vignesh, who went to take shower in the bathroom, did not return for a long time and there was no response when knocked on the door. Soon, Senthil Kumar broke open the door and found Vignesh lying dead.

Soon he was rushed to the Chromepet GH, where the doctors declared that he was brought dead. The Pallavaram police sent the body for post-mortem and the police have registered a case. Further inquiry is on.
