3 snatchers caught, 13 cell phones recovered
The city police arrested three suspected snatchers who targeted people in and around T Nagar in the recent past, and recovered 13 mobile phones and seized a two-wheeler from them. The officials tracked them using CCTV footage from scene of crime and also using the IMEI numbers of the stolen gadgets to nab the trio from Teynampet.

The police identified the arrested men as ‘Vendakai’ Dinesh, a known history sheeter; Manikandan of Royapettah and Mani of Thousand lights. Officials said the three were involved in various mobile phone snatching in and around T Nagar.
The trio come under the police scanner after two of the victims lodged complaints in October that their phones were snatched.
In one incident, a 22-year-old youth who was walking towards his house in Thirumalai Pillai Road was relieved of his mobile phone by a bike-borne duo.
