The duo will work together 24 years after Bombay in 1995. In the past, the duo had teamed up for Geetanjali, Anjali, ThirudaThiruda, Agni Natchathiram, Nayagan and Thalapathy. Ponniyin Selvan will go on floors in December and will be bankrolled by Lyca. The film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Mohan Babu, Aishwarya Rai, Vikram, Jayam Ravi and Karthi Sivakumar in lead roles. AR Rahman will compose the music while Vairamuthu has already started to pen the lyrics for the film. The veteran director was slammed by netizens for roping in Vairamuthu despite being accused of sexual harassment by several women including Chimayi Sripaada.
