How do I adapt to my changing shape and size due to pregnancy? - Emmy George, Anna Nagar
The more active and fit you are during your pregnancy, the easier it will be for you to cope with the changes. Keep exercising as long as you are comfortable. If you are worried that the exercise will affect your baby, be assured it will not. The best form of exercise is walking. However, do not exhaust yourself too much. Also, slow down, as your pregnancy progresses. Ensure you take adequate quantities of food and eat right. - Dr Jayashree, Obstetric Gynaecologist
I am very slim. How do I gain weight? -Sneha Susan, Urapakkam
Eat smaller meals more frequently. Five to six slightly smaller, but complete meals, can help you get the nutrients you require. Choose high calorie, protein-rich food like scrambled eggs with cheese, yogurt with fruits for breakfast and salads with cooked meat for lunch and dinner. Drink whole milk and not the skimmed variety. Note that regular carbohydrate intake is necessary to gain weight. Include plenty of fibre in your diet, as it is critical for digestion. Ensure you eat small snacks throughout the day. - Joyce Martin, Nutritionist
