I have been put on inhalers, after being diagnosed with asthma. Aren’t they addictive? Sridhar K, Triplicane

Though the field of pulmonology has gained significance due to asthma, a large number of people don’t seek treatment due to many myths. They feel that inhalers can be addictive and are wary of the presence of steroids. There are other issues like the inhaler technique. Dr K Thiruppathi, Pulmonologist, SIMS Hospital

What’s an ideal gym diet? I am not comfortable eating in the morning before 10 am. Is it a good idea to workout on empty stomach? It is only a 40-minute workout usually, though I do go for longer sessions over the weekend. Divya Lakshmi, Pudupet

If you intend to go for a heavy workout, then you must consume a substantial amount of protein in the form of shakes. Remember, you must never overeat or starve ahead of a workout. Your glucose levels are down when you have an empty stomach and your workout can take a beating due to lack of energy. Sowmya Binu, Senior Nutritionist.
