The glamorous world of showbiz has seen many rising stars as well as downfalls over the years. While some survive the rat race, a few unfortunately succumb to their circumstances.

Sai Prashanth, Tamil TV actor well-known for his roles in the movies, Neram and Vadacurry was found dead at his residence in Chennai on 13th March 2016. Police claim that the reason behind Prashanth’s suicide could be loneliness and depression. According to reports, he got married for the second time just 3 months ago and that he was under a lot of financial stress lately.
Jiah Khan, a British-born Indian actress was found hanging in her apartment in Juhu, Mumbai, on June 3, 2013. Police reports suggest that the Bollywood actress was battling pressure from her then boyfriend Suraj Pancholi and it pushed her to take her own life. A note recovered from Jiah's apartment after her death had said how she had to undergo an abortion during the course of her relation with Pancholi.
Tamil Actor Balamurali Mohan popular for his role in the movies, Shivaji and Hey Ram, committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence at Purasawalkam, Chennai on June 25, 2014, as a result of depression. The 54-year-old actor is survived by his wife Seetha Rani and son Uma Shankar.
Shikha Joshi, an Indian model turned actress known for her role in the Hindi movie B.A. Pass, was found in the bathroom of her friend’s home with her throat slit in a suspected suicide bid. She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was declared dead. According to media sources she was an out-of-work actress and was struggling to revive her career.
American actor and comedian Robin Williams committed suicide on August 11, 2014, at his residence in San Francisco, at the age of 63. The Marin County Sheriff's Office deputy coroner stated Williams had hanged himself with a belt and died from asphyxiation. According to medical records, he was diagnosed with dementia which led to depression and hallucination.Â
Telugu actor Ranganath was found hanging in his residence at Hyderabad on 19 December 2015. Family members rushed him to the hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival. Police investigated the situation, and upon autopsy and further evidence, confirmed suicide. According to sources, he was staying alone in a rented apartment and was highly depressed after the death of his wife in 2009. The actor also left all his wealth and inheritance for his maid.
Disha Ganguly a Bengali TV serial actress, committed suicide over social stigma of same-sex relationship with another actress on 9th April 2015. Homosexuality is still illegal in Bangladesh and India. According to reports, Disha couldn’t bear the thought of never seeing her girlfriend again and marrying a man. When her girlfriend found out Disha was dead, she tried to follow her by throwing herself in front of an oncoming train. Locals snatched her to safety just in time, and the woman was hospitalized later.
