The Taiwanese tech major has now made these laptops available for the India market and has positioned them as the world’s most compact laptops. Apple’s MacBook Air has usually been the ‘go to’ laptop for consumers seeking weightless, travel-friendly notebooks. The ASUS range makes a strong case with what the company calls ‘NanoEdge’ displays that completely knock off the bezels.

The headline feature for this range of laptops is an impressive screen: body ratio that exceeds 90 per cent. Yes, these laptops are all-screen and also double up as great devices to consume entertainment and videos on the go. While the ZenBook 13 and 14 come in multiple hardware variants, there’s just version of the larger ZenBook 15. The range begins at Rs 71,900 and extends all the way to Rs 1,39,990 for the fully loaded ZenBook 15. This top-of-the-line version features a 15.6-inch Full HD display and comes with 16GB of RAM, 1TB SSD storage and is powered by Intel Core i7-8565U processor. It’s remarkably powerful.

It’s the ZenBook 13 that has our attention. This is probably the most compact high-performance laptop you can buy in India — it weighs just 1.09 kg. ASUS pegs the screen: body ratio at 95% for this device with a 13.3-inch Full HD NanoEdge display (1920 x 1080 pixels) with a 179-degree wide field of view. ASUS packs this light-weight laptop that delivers 14 hours of battery life on a single charge with heavy duty specs — 8GB of RAM, 256GB or 512GB PCIe SSD storage and 2GB of GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce MX150 graphics. You could configure the device with either an 8th generation IntelCore i5-8265U processor or Core i7-8565U processor. We also approve of ASUS’ clever ‘NumberPad’ design, where the number pad is actually displayed on top of the trackpad. (Rs 71,900 onwards)

    Logitech Z607:

At a time when portable Bluetooth Speakers have begun to dominate home entertainment, Logitech has unleashed a 5.1 Surround Sound system with Bluetooth connectivity at an aggressive price point. Logitech Z607 offers multi-source connectivity, allowing you to hook up your TV or phone or computer via Bluetooth, 3.5mm or RCA cables. You can also listen to content from an SD or USB drive or FM Radio. There’s a 6-metre-long rear speaker cable, ensuring you don’t need to rearrange the room to enjoy high quality audio.

The Z607 is a great solution for contemporary homes given the fact that most of us access music from multiple sources that range from our smartphone to SD card or USB drive. The device offers easy connectivity and is a breeze to set up. Set it up and choose your input settings from a control panel located on the sub-woofer or remote bundled with the unit. The remote is quite intuitive and offers multiple controls. The Z607 packs 160 Watts Peak power and a 5.25-inch subwoofer driver with clear highs and a deep, powerful bass from any audio source. You can place the speakers on desks or easily mount them to a wall. (Rs 10,995)
