Yoga event relayed state wide via satellite
For the first time satellite technology was used to relay an Inner Engineering programme live all over Tamil Nadu to teach Isha Yoga to aspirants.
Chennai
The programme was conducted by the founder of Isha Foundation at the Isha Yoga Centre Coimbatore. Isha volunteers and teachers have been working for the last 30 days to make this event happen state wide. The 2-day event in Tamil was held during the weekend (December 17, 18) by the Sadhguru after a span of 32 years. Over 21,700 participants from 32 districts took part in the yoga event. On Sunday, thousands of people were initiated into the ancient and powerful yogic practice Shambavi Mahamudra by Sadhguru. There were many interactive sessions with the Sadhguru who answered many questions from the participants with clarity and wit in his own inimitable way.
The Sadhguru in his speech said, “There are over 21,000 people in the Inner Engineering programme in Tamil Nadu. This silent revolution of self-realization began 34 years ago. Few generations ago, every person in India had some sort of spiritual process. It’s time to build it back. An opportunity to touch so many people’s lives so powerfully comes once in many generations. Let’s make it happen.” The Kalari performance by Isha Samskriti students left the audience awe inspired. The 2-day event culminated with a live percussion performance by Sounds of Isha. Nearly 10,000 saplings were distributed to the participants and volunteers who took part in the programme. It was planned by Isha’s environment wing Project Green Hands in the aftermath of the Vardha storm which had brought down thousands of trees in the city.
