Going Viral: Star Trek franchise tries to take on ‘Kabali’?
Kabali’s unique promotion featuring Rajnikanth’s face on an Air Asia airplane created quite a stir on social media. And now, the makers of Star Trek Beyond, which will release on the same day in India as Kabali on July 22, are reportedly going an extra mile to ensure that the clash doesn’t dent the movie’s performance.

The Hollywood sci-fi franchise have released a customised poster showing a Starship Enterprise with Mumbai’s iconic landmarks like the Gateway of India and The Taj Mahal Hotel in the background. As a part of the promotional strategy, the makers are also undertaking ‘spaceship activation’ by stationing a huge remote-controlled ‘spaceship’ at a mall in Mumbai. Fans of the popular Hollywood franchise and Rajinikanth were seen trolling each other on Wednesay on Twitter.
