Learn English at click of a button
Cambridge English Language Assessment has pilot- launched a mobile app exclusively for parents of six to 12-year-old children called the Cambridge English Parents Network in two cities – Chennai and Delhi.
Chennai
TK Arunachalam, regional director, South Asia, Cambridge English Language Assessment, shares more information about it.
What was the basic idea behind the app?
The Cambridge English: Young Learners programme imparts basic skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking English. We have tied up with many city-based schools for it. But we realised there are many aspirational parents, whose kids do not go to the schools, we are currently working with. So we wanted to present them with an opportunity to help their kids get the basic knowledge of English through an app.
Tell us more about the app
The app offers parents the opportunity to access, explore and use the repository of curated learning resources offered by Cambridge English that they can use to help their children in their English language communication activities. Most of the learning will be through games and activities. The app also provides a networking platform for parents to connect, view and share resources.
Do you plan to extend services to other cities?
Yes. We have got more than 3,000 parents registered from these two cities. Once they use the app and give us an honest feedback, we will work on it and then launch it in other cities
