Going Viral: Transgender girl shares how she overcame bullying in viral video
Michigan-based Corey Maison, 14, shared her heart-breaking story about getting bullied for being a transgender girl, and the video is going viral.

In Maison’s video for The BULLY Project, Maison is posted in the girls’ bathroom at her school. She holds up note cards detailing her experiences being bullied and her life since. She talks about how she was born a boy, but always loved painting her nails and wearing high heels. Her peers frequently bullied her and one classmate even told her she should kill herself because no one would miss her. Maison’s mother eventually showed Maison a video about transgender teen Jazz Jennings, which helped her finally be able to be herself, seek out medical help to transition, and go through puberty as a girl. Even better, she was able to leave her old school for a small LGBT-inclusive school. Now she plays on the girls’ soccer team and says, “I am so HAPPY now.” Bullying happens at all ages and it’s never acceptable.
