The go-to app for handyman services

Super Antz, a Chennai-based start-up offers a one-stop solution. Founders of the app, Senthil Kumar Balasubramaniyam, a former techie and his friend Prasanna Baskaran, say they realized finding a reliable home service provider can be difficult. “The idea was born from our personal experience in this unorganised sector. 

Whenever we needed the services of a plumber or an electrician, we’d ask friends or family for their recommendation. Many who turned up had no ID cards. Some were shabbily dressed, raising concerns about their credibility. 

Some of them failed to turn up after leaving the work mid-way,” says Senthil, who decided to start something on his own. This led him to kick start SuperAntZ, an app that helps you book handymen such as plumbers, carpenters, painters, electricians or wellness and beauty services like yoga classes, or even housekeeping and chauffeur services. 

“Our aim is to give centralise quality service. We select only reliable service providers. We hold a 40-day training session for them where etiquette and customer-management skills are taught. They are given official t-shirts and ID cards, so that customers know who they are.

Keeping with the spirit of our logo, which is that of an ant, we aim to be disciplined, speedy and effective,” says Senthil. They started operations in September, 2015 and the Android app was launched in December and went on iOS app in January this year.  With over 3000 happy users, the promoters plan to expand to Coimbatore and other cities soon.
