    CHENNAI: With 235 fresh COVID-19 cases on Thursday, the total number of cases so far in the State has reached 35,90,016. The fresh cases in Chennai stood at 57, while 21 cases were recorded in Chengalpattu. Six districts had nil cases while six districts had one case each.

    The test positivity rate (TPR) in Tamil Nadu stood at 2.3 per cent after 10,393 samples were tested in the past 24 hours. The highest TPR of 4.2 was reported in Tirunelveli.

    Meanwhile, the active cases in the State stood at 3,692, with the highest number of active cases being reported in Chennai at 1,898.

    A total of 408 more people recovered, and the total recoveries so far reached 35,48,276. With no more deaths due to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, the death toll stood at 38,048.
