No new Covid-19 fatality in TN since Oct 6

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu has reported 271 new COVID cases, including a case from the UAE on Monday. Total number of cases has crossed 35.89 lakh in the State. Chennai reported 66 new cases, Chengalpattu had 23 cases and Salem had 24 cases. TN’s test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 2.4% after 11,158 samples were tested in the past 24 hours. Krishnagiri reported highest TPR of 4.8%. Meanwhile, active cases stood at 4,074 in TN, with the highest continuously being reported in Chennai – 2,134 active cases. A total of 312 people discharged from across the State. Total recoveries crossed 35.47 lakh. No new COVID fatality reported in the past 24 hours. Death toll remained at 38,048.
