COIMBATORE: The 10 boys admitted in Tirupur Government Hospital for suspected food poisoning were discharged from hospital after five days on Monday. Three children of Sri Vivekananda Sevalayam in Thirumuruganpoondi died and 12 others, including the security guard were admitted for treatment. Following the ill-fated incident, the home was sealed by authorities. As their health condition improved, five children expressed willingness to go with their parents or guardians, five others were shifted to a Government Children Home in Erode, while one boy is still under treatment. Officials said that the compensation amount given by the government would be given to the caretakers. “And for others who do not have anyone, efforts were on to open an account in their name to deposit the solatium. Also, the children would be monitored to ensure that they continue their education,” said an official.
