CHENNAI: The next Assembly session will commence on October 17, said Speaker M Appavu on Friday.

During the session, Finance Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan would present supplementary budget, followed by debate on it. Sources said the government would table the reports of Justice Aruna Jagadeesan Commission that inquired the Thoothukudi firing and Justice Arumugasamy Commission that probed into the death of late chief minister J Jayalalithaa on the final day.

When asked whether the seating arrangement for AIADMK leaders Edappadi K Palaniswami and O Panneerselvam were finalised, Speaker Appavu did not offer a direct reply but instead said it would be done based on Assembly rules.
