CHENNAI: The ninth global summit of Tamil entrepreneurs and professionals will be held at Dubai from November 9 to 11.
The summit named 'The RISE Dubai Summit' will be organised by The Rise Global, the organisation which works to unite Tamil entrepreneurs across the globe.
Releasing the purpose and agenda of the summit, Jegath Gaspar Raj, Founder of the organisation, said: "The RISE Dubai summit” will provide the platform to unite Tamil entrepreneurs and professionals and will provide linkages so that they can trade among themselves. Tamil Nadu, which excels in manufacturing, fails to make use of the market and the summit will make sure that Tamil Nadu businessmen get a chance to meet global investors and buyers."
The Rise Global organisation conducts global summits once in six months in various destinations starting from Madurai and traveling to various countries. Jegath Gaspar said that the reason for conducting the summit in Dubai is that Tamils have a significant presence in the country, but unlike Malayalis who are mostly white-collared Tamils and mostly employed as labourers.
"As Dubai is focusing on a post-oil economy they are inviting big investments in their country and we are guiding the Tamil businessmen to invest in Dubai. Actually in Dubai, there is no income tax and for companies earning more than $1 lakh they should pay 5 per cent of their gains and it is one of the favourite destinations for investments which Tamil businessmen should consider,” said Gasper.
For the three-day summit, the participants need to pay Rs 50,000, which includes food. The fee for women entrepreneurs is only Rs 35,000.
Entrepreneurs from more than 50 countries have registered for the event and for the first time entrepreneurs from Burundi, Mozambique, Congo and Uganda are set to participate.
