COIMBATORE: BJP state president K Annamalai in Coimbatore on Monday urged Chief Minister MK Stalin to stay neutral, if this government wants to complete its full five years term.

Speaking at a protest meeting against recent attacks in Coimbatore, Annamalai wondered why Chief Minister Stalin did not react on the terror forces responsible for the recent attacks against Hindu outfits and urged him to stay neutral.

“If the attacks continue, the BJP members are even ready to besiege the house of the Chief Minister. Stalin, who aspires to be in power for 10 years, should first look to complete this five-year term. If this situation continues, then BJP shouldn’t be held responsible, if the Assembly polls are held simultaneously with Lok Sabha elections in 2024,” he said.

Claiming that the police force in Tamil Nadu has become instruments in the hands of the government, Annamalai said that the BJP will not be silent, if Hindu outfits are targeted.

Pointing out that 6 TMC of water has gone waste due to damage of a shutter in Parambikulam reservoir, Annamalai said that the shutter had been damaged due to lack of proper maintenance.

“Though Rs 1 crore has been sanctioned for maintenance of dams, the government has allotted only Rs 15 lakh after pocketing Rs 85 lakh as commission,” he said.
