Gaur straying into residential areas tranquilised, shifted to forest
COIMBATORE: An Indian gaur, which strayed into residential areas in Namakkal was tranquilised and captured by the Forest Department. It was released in Anthiyur forest range in Erode early on Friday. Residents were gripped in fear after they noticed the gaur wandering around in villages in Kumarapalayam since Wednesday. A large team of Forest Department officials darted it twice with tranquilisers on Thursday night. As it came under the influence of sedation, the animal was shifted to the forest.
