TIRUVALLUR: On Tuesday, a pleasant surprise awaited the students of government schools in Tiruvallur when they had an opportunity to interact with the District Collector in a programme called ‘Coffee with Collector.’

The informal meeting was held at Tiruvallur Collector’s office premises where 21 students studying in Classes 11 and 12 from government high and higher secondary schools in Poondi were invited to have a free wheeling discussion with Collector Dr Alby John Varghese.

They discussed various topics such as their passion, academics, sports and extracurricular activities and asked his advice on how to become successful individuals.

Chatting with the students, Dr Varghese said, “At this age the entire focus should be on education and students should make sure they do not get distracted by unwanted habits. It is important to have a routine to study and to allot time every day to brush up on academics.”

He also emphasised on the importance of being educated to reach greater heights in life.
