Dharmapuri GMCH Asst prof suspended, Health Min promises action

COIMBATORE: Health Minister Ma Subramanian in Dharmapuri on Tuesday said that an enumeration is underway to make those who have worked for more than 10 years on a temporary basis in the medical field into permanent staff.

Reacting to an assistant professor at Dharmapuri Government Medical College placed under suspension on Tuesday over a complaint of sexual harassment by a second year girl student, he said Dr R Sathish Kumar was suspended following an inquiry.

“Further action will be taken after a detailed inquiry. Unbiased action will be initiated, if those in the service of the medical field are involved in wrongdoings,” he added.
