CM Stalin distributes awards to sports persons
Among them, 659 students who won in National School sports meet under three categories such as under-14, under-17 and under-19 were given cash reward of Rs 7.03 crore.
CHENNAI: Chief Minister M K Stalin on Monday distributed awards to best sportspersons, coaches, physical education teachers, physical education directors, best referees and best organiser for the year 2018-19 and 2019-20. A total of 19 sports personalities received the cash prize of Rs 16.30 lakh. The awards were recently announced by the state government.
The Chief Minister also distributed reward for sportspersons who had won in several national and international events, from 2019 to 2022. A total of 1,130 sportspersons were given cash reward of Rs 16.28 crore.
Among them, 659 students who won in National School sports meet under three categories such as under-14, under-17 and under-19 were given cash reward of Rs 7.03 crore.
Chief Minister also inspected "Adukalam", the service centre maintained by Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu. The service centre functions from 10 am to 5 pm on all working days and can be contacted at 9514000777.
