No new Covid case reported in Ariyalur, Kallakurichi

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu reported 434 new cases on Saturday, taking the total number of cases to over 35.73 lakh. Chennai reported 85 new cases, Coimbatore had 59, Chengalpattu 39, Erode 21 and Kanniyakumari had 19 cases. TN’s test positivity rate stood at 2.4% after 18,327 samples were tested on Friday.

Coimbatore had 8.7% TPR while Tiruppur had 6.4%, Ranipet 6%, Kanniyakumari 4.6%, Chengalpattu and Erode 4.3% each, and Chennai had 2% TPR. As many as 456 patients were discharged across the State on Saturday. The total number of recoveries reached 35.31 lakh. At least 17,632 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, as per the state health bulletin.
