CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu government has currently put a hold on the provision of higher secondary school students’ registering themselves with employment exchanges. A circular on the same has been issued recently.

Under the scheme, students of Classes 10 and 12 registering themselves with the employment exchange at their respective schools was launched by former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa in 2011. Through this, many students were able to automatically register with the exchange for jobs.

However, recently the government has urged students to either visit the employment exchange office in person or to register online at https://tnvelaivaaippu.gov.in/ under the Department of Employment and Training.
