TIRUCHY: NTK chief Seeman on Thursday appealed to actor and politician R Sarathkumar not to take part in advertisements promoting online rummy, as it would influence youngsters.
“Sarathkumar is a popular actor, political party leader and a respected person in the society. He should stop appearing in such advertisements promoting online games,” Seeman told reporters here. Seeman further said that not only Sarathkumar, but also a few celebrities, including cricketers, promote online rummy with attractive words like buying a bike or car with the money they won in such games. “Won’t the youngsters be misguided?’’ he wondered.
Meanwhile, he criticised the state for asking feedback from the public against online games. “First, let the CM, being the most responsible person, take a decision and then seek the views of the public. It is just a matter of diluting the issue,” he said.
