    Chennai: Tamil Nadu cases of Covid-19 saw 22 cases reported on Tuesday. The total number of cases reached to 34,53,134 in the State.

    The active cases dropped to 226 in the State, with 94 in Chennai and 35 in Chengalpattu. The numbers dropped below 10 in Chennai as 9 cases were reported in the city, while 6 cases were recorded in Chengalpattu.

    Kancheepuram, Coimbatore, Karur, Madurai, Ranipet, Theni and Tiruppur reported a case each. Over 17,000 persons were tested for Covid in the State and the test positivity rate (TPR) in Tamil Nadu increased to 0.2 per cent.

    The state recorded no new fatality; total number of deaths due to Covid in the State remains at 38,025. A total of 25 people were reported to have recovered, taking the total recoveries in the State to 34.15 lakh.
