He said this in response to a statement by former AIADMK minister KA Sengottaiyan that only Dravidian parties will form government in Tamil Nadu.
Seeking an explanation on the term Dravidian, the BJP leader said, “I am also a Dravidian based on colour and those in DMK and AIADMK are our relatives.” “I cannot agree that only Dravidian parties will rule Tamil Nadu. But, I would accept that those not from Tamil Nadu cannot come to power,” he said.
On the complaint by a girl student from Kanniyakumari on religious conversion, Annamalai urged the state to take action without making any attempt to cover up the issue. “The BJP’s action will be based on the state government’s reaction to the issue,” he said.
Claiming that he does not contradict Amit Shah’s Hindi language remark, Annamalai said Tamil could be brought as a link language in 20 years in India, if we worked towards this goal.“If the state writes to chief ministers of all states to make Tamil as a medium of instruction and funds the initiative, then the BJP will support it,” he said.
