CHENNAI: The meeting, in which all Chief Education Officers (CEOs) participated, mainly discussed incidents of question paper leaks and ways to prevent it during board exams for classes 10 to 12.

“All CEOs promised to conduct board exams without any irregularities. They’ve been instructed to keep exam question papers in a locked room that does not have windows,” the minister said after the review meeting.

Stating that more than 1,200 armed guards would be deployed at the centres where question papers are stored, Poyyamozhi said the security personnel would be available round the clock without any diversions.

“In addition to the security, over 1,200 inspection officials will be appointed as flying squads. They’d make a surprise visit to many exam centres to ensure that the question papers were safe,” he added.

Poyyamozhi said that officials were instructed not to harass students in the name of frisking.

To a question on the question paper leak on Sunday, the minister said action will be taken against those involved in spreading it through social media. “Officials were also asked to check the background of printers, who supply the question papers,” he pointed out.
