He was admitted to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital where his condition was said to be stable. Chief Minister MK Stalin spoke to him over phone and announced that a separate team of doctors had been formed to monitor the health condition of Sankaraiah. Meanwhile, former TNCC president and Tiruchy MP Su Thirunavukkarasar also tested positive.
