18 int’l passengers tested positive for Delta+, no Omicron in TN yet: Ma Subramanian

A total of 18 international passengers who tested positive for COVID-19 in Tamil Nadu were found to be infected with Delta plus variant and no Omicron cases have been reported yet in Tamil Nadu, Health Minister Ma Subramanian said on Saturday

There are a total of 20 cases of international passengers who tested positive for COVID-19, of which two from Singapore tested positive on their eighth day of quarantine.
Currently, there are 19 active cases among international passengers in Tamil Nadu after one has been discharged. Of the 19 cases, 11 are from 'at-risk' countries and eight from 'low-risk' countries.
Earlier, the Minister said 100 per cent of the people who have arrived from 'at-risk' countries are being tested and two per cent who have arrived from 'low-risk' countries are also being tested. All those who tested positive are stable.
There are a total of 11 people who are under treatment at King's Institute of Preventive Medicine and Research, Guindy, five in Anna Gandhi Memorial Hospital, Tiruchy and one in Government Medical College and Hospital, Nagercoil and two in private health care facilities in Nagercoil and Chennai.
