The accused, identified by sources as Arun Kumar, was running a textile shop in Pollachi. There were unconfirmed reports linking him to AIADMK, but party men refuted it. He was later produced in a CBI court in Coimbatore and remanded in judicial custody. The development comes after the Madras HC directed the Mahila court to conduct daily hearings.
