Tamil Nadu's CM Palaniswami To Roll-out Covid Vaccine Programme In Madurai On Jan 16
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami will inaugurate covid vaccine programme in Madurai on Jan 16.

Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has approved two coronavirus vaccines namely Covishield and Covaxin in India. From Jan 16 onwards State governments would start phase I of vaccinating people against coronavirus.
Central Government also had launched mobile application 'CoWin' to coordinate the inoculation efforts and monitor vaccine availability & delivery.

Initially central government informed three crore frontline workers would receive the jab.
Meanwhile CM Palaniswami kickstarts covid vaccine drive in Madurai on Jan 16.
Earlier, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan visited Chennai to inspect vaccination arrangements and responded satisfactorily.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a virtual meeting with Chief Ministers on Monday afternoon, wherein all states will share the details of preparation made for the planned vaccination.

The Prime Minister will chair the meeting slated to begin at 4 pm.
He will be apprised by the CMs on the roll-out of coronavirus vaccine as well as the COVID-19 situation in their respective states.
Tamil Nadu has performed the 'dry run' in 226 sites and is expected to earmark some 300 to 500 sites to arrange for vaccination.
