Visiting the Kallakudi railway junction, the iconic spot associated with DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi and his fight against Hindi imposition, DMK youth wing secretary Udhayanidhi Stalin turned emotional and said, it was heartening to visit the place where his grandfather Karunanidhi fought against the imposition of Hindi in the state.

He added," but at the same time the situation persists as the BJP has been trying to impose Hindi through the present rulers in the state and the people of Tamil Nadu will continue to oppose it”. Reiterating that the DMK was not against Hindi language, he said the party was against its imposition only.

Udhayanidhi then visited the residential areas in Kallakudi and interacted with the people. A few of them welcomed him with ‘aarathi’.

Later, speaking at Kattuputhur, Udhayanidhi said that the people of Tamil Nadu gave a remarkable victory in the Parliamentary elections with which the DMK had become the third largest party in Parliament.

“Still, Edappadi K Palaniswami has been working as an agent for BJP-led government at the Centre and has been very keen on showing himself as a good natured person through advertisements issued through taxpaers' money. While Tamil Nadu is in the first place for corruption, both Palaniswami and O Panneerselvam have been vying with each other in being the slaves of Modi,” he said.

Udhayanidhi further said that ousted leader VK Sasikala, who would be released any time after January 27, is extremely angry against the government and there will be an impact on the government after her release.
