Seniors not happy with OPS’ soft stand towards BJP

“AIADMK joint coordinator Edappadi K Palaniswami who is also the party CM candidate has completed two rounds of campaign covering western districts. On Wednesday, he began his third round in Delta. However, party coordinator Panneerselvam is yet to begin his election campaign,” said an AIADMK senior who is aspiring for a party ticket. A section of CM supporters is upset with the soft approach of OPS towards BJP. OPS has not reacted against the BJP leaders who often comment about the CM candidate issue. We are planning to take up this issue, the senior said confirming that the heartburn between the sulking faction of the OPS and EPS within the AIADMK is yet to heal.

“The recent speech of party deputy coordinator KP Munusamy hitting out against the national parties has enthused the cadre, but in the same meeting, OPS pointed about a cordial state-Centre relationship contradicting the views of Munusamy. Such contradictory views will confuse the cadre,” opined an AIADMK former MLA.

Reacting to it North Chennai MGR Mandram functionary Poonga Nagar Selvam said that the BJP is the root cause for unease in the party. EPS has started the election campaign and OPS being the party coordinator is strengthening the party and is gearing up for the party executive council and general council scheduled next month. If the BJP continues to rake up the CM candidate issue, definitely party leader OPS will react.
