Rajinikanth's decision saddens me, says Kamal Haasan
After actor Rajinikanth announced on Tuesday that he would not foray into politics, Makkal Needhi Maiam founder Kamal Haasan said during his campaign in Mayiladuthurai.

"Although Rajinikanth's decision saddens me, his health and wellbeing is very important to me. My Rajini should be well". He added that he would meet the actor once he reaches Chennai.
Other leaders from the political field too seemed to welcome Rajinikanth's decision, especially because of his health concerns. Chief Coordinator of Naam Tamilar Katchi Seeman tweeted: "I welcome Superstar Rajinikanth's decision to withdraw from politics citing his health. Furthermore, I wish him full health and all the best for his future endeavors."
Meanwhile, Tamil Maanila Congress President GK Vasan said, "Rajinikanth's announcement considering his ill health is acceptable. Tamil State Congress's only request is that Rajinikanth should extend his support for the wellbeing of people".
Joining him, actor and politician Nagma said, "Applaud this decision of yours Rajinikanth Ji. You made a good decision. Health should be taken care of first . Work for the good for the people without getting into electoral politics."
