According to sources in literary circle, Paramasivan, a retired professor from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University in Tirunelveli, was admitted in Tirunelveli GH for his ailment, but he died in the evening. 

Paramasivan is known for his works on anthropology such as ‘Panpattu Asaivugal,’ ‘Ariyapadatha Tamizhagam,’ ‘Theivangalum Samooga Marabugalum’ and so on. 

In his book ‘Panpattu Asaivugal,’ Paramasivan had detailed about the reasons behind customs and tradition followed in Tamil Nadu. 

As a Marxist-Periyarist, Paramasivan presented his works on Tamil culture in a critical point of view. Apart from MSU, he had also worked in Jakir Hussain College in Ilayankudi and Thyagarajar College in Madurai.
