‘Announcement to be made by top brass’
BJP state vice president K Annamalai on Sunday continued to reiterate that the Chief Ministerial candidate of the NDA alliance will be announced only by the party’s high command.

“The party’s state president L Murugan’s statement on the Chief Minister candidate for our alliance has been misunderstood,” he spoke to the media after chairing the party’s tribal wing executive committee meeting in Coimbatore.
Ruling out any confusion among the alliance partners, Annamalai explained that as the national leaders are continuously busy, there has been some delay in making the announcement. “Our party has not created any confusion in the alliance. Murugan just said that any significant decision will be announced only by the national high command and nothing else. Also, the BJP did not raise any complaints against the Chief Minister,” he said. Calling for ‘AIADMK friends’ to understand and speak with restraint, Annamalai said that the party’s national president JP Nadda will put a full stop to all doubts during his visit to Tamil Nadu. “Even Amit Shah, during his visit to Chennai, did not speak about the alliance in his capacity as it should be done only by the party’s president,” he said.
“Only a strong party will lead the alliance. Everyone knows which party is,” he said. The AIADMK leaders have expressed strong discontent over BJP’s claims on it announcing the Chief Minister candidate of the alliance.
