TN Elections 2021: EPS Kicks Off AIADMK's Election Campaign From Home Constituency

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS) launched the ruling All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's (AIDMK) campaign for the 2021 Assembly polls on Saturday from his home constituency of Edappadi, after offering prayers at the Chenraya Perumal Temple in Periyasoragai in  Salem district.

With DMK leader and Lok Sabha member Kanimozhi beginning the assembly poll campaign from Edapaddi constituency some days back, Palaniswami said party members wanted him to begin his campaign from his constituency.

He said Edappadi assembly constituency is AIADMK's iron fortress and it is the only constituency that DMK has not able to win even once during the past 43 years.

"Edappadi is the AIDMK's fort, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has not been able to win the Edappadi constituency for 43 years. It will be a dream for DMK to win the Edapadi constituency," Palaniswami said while addressing the huge crowds that thronged his convoy, ahead of the Legislative Assembly elections that are set to take place around May next year.

He further said that his government had done its best to provide better medical, water, educational and transport facilities to the people in the Edappadi constituency.

"I had never thought of becoming a Chief Minister. The opportunity was given by the God. This is an opportunity to serve the people," Palaniswami also said.

Listing out various achievements of his government, Palaniswami said not only Kanimozhi, even if all the DMK leaders campaign, AIADMK cannot be felled.

Palaniswami pointed out that the AIADMK has ruled the state for 36 long years, the only party to have ruled for a such a long period.

The AIADMK party and its allies will win majority of the seats in the 2021 polls and form the government while appealing to the voters to vote for the two leaves symbol.
